For the past few years, Little RES Q has been invited to Party 4 Paws. It’s a great dog-centric event where vendors, charities, and shows are centered around Trinity Bellwoods’ Dogbowl.

The last time I volunteered for this event was before the pandemic and it was wonderful. We had turtles and snakes, the volunteer who organized our tent and volunteers at the time (who was absolutely a force of nature and an incredible person) really made the event special.

This time, we went a more streamlined route. Unfortunately, Turkey’s outdoor pool popped and I was unable to bring her to the event. She has RSVP’d to the next one this August though.

I brought a bunch of custom made magnets and handmade keychains that say “Adopt, don’t shop”. We sold some t-shirts and fundraised for Audrey’s Legacy Turtle Sanctuary.

We had a great time connecting with people about red eared sliders and why Audrey’s Legacy is so important. During my breaks, I was able to visit other vendors who loved turtles but couldn’t get away from their tables.

One of these vendors is the talented Beautiful Chaos Creations who specializes in hand stamped keychains, dog tags, and more.

Yes, I got a keychain that says “Doing turtle mom sh*t”. I’m a sucker for keychains and having a custom made turtle one is so wonderful. If you thought finding ‘Cat Dad’ merch was difficult, finding ‘Turtle Parent’ stuff is impossible.

The keychain was reasonably priced for what I received and it was so cool to see what I asked for being made right before my eyes.

I am planning a photoshoot with Turkey and the keychain since the photo above doesn’t really show off the beauty of the keychain.

Since this was my first official event that had no other ‘staff’ members present, Party 4 Paws went fantastically. The P4P organizer (who is wonderfully passionate about their events) asked that we bring Turkey next time.

“People love to see the turtles. I remember last time when you had snakes and turtles…you were the most popular tent!”

– the Party 4 Paws organizer. Yes, real quote.

10/10 would do again! (See you in August!)
